Daigle Automation, Inc. (DAI) offers a full range of services for the hydrocarbon and manufacturing industries. We engineer, design, and manufacture UL508A control panels, complete control systems, and electrical power systems for all industries at our fabrication shop.
CONTROL SYSTEMS
The employees of DAI are accustomed to working closely with Process, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrument Engineering in order to produce a holistic solution. DAI understands the necessity of working closely with these other disciplines throughout the design and engineering phase. Without the input from these other disciplines, the control system configuration could be considered incomplete.
Working with Process Engineering in order to formulate the overall control scheme is vital to the operation of the plant. Process data, such as resonant times in vessels, operating temperatures, pressures, flow rates, alarm and trip values, and initial setpoint and tuning parameters are just a few of the many points that must be discussed. Together this leads to a well thought out design phase.
Additionally, mechanical equipment is critical to the on‐going operation of the plant. Understanding the functionality of each piece of equipment helps to ensure that the logic will protect the equipment from damage and prevent the possibility of lost production.
Close interface with Instrument and Electrical Engineering is essential since the type of field devices being used, the method of wiring, and available power are critical to the control system design. A FOUNDATION Fieldbus control system design differs from a non‐Fieldbus control system in many aspects such as the instrumentation, I/O modules, wiring, and termination.
Nothing can be taken for granted when considering the interface between the control system and the instrumentation.
